Tiara B. Shoter

In 2022, Tiara B. Shoter joined McDonnell Adels & Klestzick as “Consultant to the Firm” to assist the Firm in handling long-term care defense cases in Florida and Kentucky.


Ms. Shoter, selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® for Medical Malpractice Defense from 2012–2022, has focused on defending nursing home and medical negligence claims. For over 17 years, she defended the 2nd largest nursing home operator in the U.S. ABA Health Law Section, which appointed her to several Task Force leadership positions (2012-2019). She served on the Steering Committee for DRI’s annual Nursing Home/ALF Litigation Seminar for years.


She has successfully tried cases in federal and state courts and argued cases before appellate courts, arbitrators, mediators, administrative judges, and licensure boards. She routinely provides continuing education, guidance, and training to nursing facilities, medical practices, healthcare professionals, attorneys, and insurance adjusters across the country.


After working in New York, Ms. Shoter joined Boehl Stopher & Graves, LLP, a multi-office, AV-rated law firm in Louisville, ranked one of the “Most Prolific Trial Law Firms” in Kentucky, where she worked for 20 years, was elected the 2nd female partner in the firm’s 125-year history and was appointed to the firm’s management Executive Committee. Ms. Shoter currently resides in Florida, where she is of counsel with Korn & Kalish, LLP, and provides litigation and risk management consulting services nationwide.
